While most skins in League of Legends require you to spend real money, there are a few skins that can be obtained free of charge. Some are even gifted to players simply for being good sports throughout a season and not succumbing to the rampant toxicity in the game. 

So, what free skins exist in League of Legends, and how do you get your hands on them? That’s what I’ll tell you right now, and some of the skins you can get are certified bangers. Remember, just because they’re free, don’t sleep on them. 

League of Legends All Free Skins

Medieval Twitch and Grey Warwick

Getting these skins will require you to be a team player and not a toxic idiot in League of Legends so you can get honors from your teammates after games. It’s simple, it’s free, and you can get two skins out of it.

By making it to Honor Level 5 you can snag Grey Warwick or Medieval Twitch skins for free. Got both already? No worries, you can redeem Honor Level 5 tokens for cool chromas in the Honor Level 5 shop. 

Three-Honors Skins

Not only can players obtain the two skins mentioned above, but anyone who reaches Honor Level 5 by the end of a season, will also be gifted a Three-Honors skin for a random champion. The first champion to get a Three-Honors skin was none other than Malzahar for any players who made it to Honor Level 5 at the end of the 2022 League of Legends season. 

Victorious Skins – End of Season / Split Rewards

Now, for players who want to enjoy ranked and earn some free rewards, you will be gifted a Victorious skin at the end of every split. With every League of Legends season having 3 splits, that makes 3 new skins every single year. And all you have to do is grind ranked. The requirement that you need to reach Gold has also been removed. So just playing a lot of ranked is enough. 

Waterloo Miss Fortune

To score this cool skin for everyone's favorite captain, you'll need to make a new account. If you've already got all the skins you want on your main account, this might not be for you, but new players should definitely grab this skin.

When you level up a new account, you get special rewards. Plus, for the first seven games that count as first-game-of-the-day, you can either get 500 Orange Essence or the Waterloo Miss Fortune skin. Just play League for seven days, and you'll get this skin. Easy, right?

Triumphant Ryze

Triumphant Ryze might be quite a rare skin, but you can actually get it for free… you simply have to participate in a tournament where you can obtain this skin. You can check on Battlefy for tournaments that you can participate in to get this skin for free. You don’t need to be a pro to participate, which is also nice.

Hextech Crafting

Of course, we cannot forget the simplest way to get free skins, which is through Hextech Crafting in the League of Legends client itself. Throughout your time playing League you’re going to accumulate an insane amount of skin shards. Combine 3 and you will get a random permanent skin. Easy-peasy. 

But you’re going to have to be lucky to get the skin you want, since there are quite a few older and uglier skins… but you could be fortunate and land an ultimate skin as well. So, just try your chances, and you can earn some pretty cool free skins this way as well.
