Black Ops 6 Won’t Actually Be 300 GB According to Devs

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Download Size Revealed – Actual Storage Requirements Explained

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 recently became available on the various storefronts for PlayStation, Xbox and PC. But on the Xbox page for Black Ops 6, the minimum storage requirement was listed as a whopping 300 GB. Call of Duty is always a huge game, needing a lot of storage space on one's console or PC, but 300 GB would be truly obnoxious.

So if you're hyped for Black Ops 6, should you start clearing all that space on your drive? Well, it’s actually a little more complicated for that.

Call of Duty Black Ops 6: Does It Really Require 300 GB?

It seems that the massive 300 GB storage space isn’t just for the upcoming Black Ops 6. No, not at all. Activision has revealed that the 300 GB will also include the complete installation of Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, Warzone, and all related content packs

So yes, you will need a lot of space for the game, but not as much as some players first feared. Honestly, though, if Activision was to release a 300 GB game, then they better send a free SSD along with it. The price of Black Ops will probably also warrant that, if I’m being honest. These CoD games ain’t cheap.

How Big Will CoD Black Ops 6 be?

The actual download size of Black Ops 6 has not been revealed yet. The game is set to release on October 25, 2024, and Activision is expected to give us an update closer to release about how much actual storage space is needed for the newest CoD installment. Makes sense.

One thing is for certain though, this is going to be a huge game with a single-player, as well as multiplayer mode. Oh, and the beloved Zombies mode is also going to be returning this year, as this is a Treyarch game, which is exciting for any OG CoD fan.

But before you go about pre-ordering, remember that Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 is going to be available on day one via Xbox Game Pass, for the first time in franchise history. This is a move by Activision to get some fresh blood into the CoD series. And it’s possible now thanks to the recent conclusion of the Microsoft-Activision deal. We expect Game Pass subscribers will get future CoD games on release as well.

So will you be playing the Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 this year, maybe via the Game Pass? Or are you going to save your money for GTA 6 next year, which is rumored to be the most expensive game ever made?
