All Playstyles FC25

If you haven't figured out what playstyles are and what they do yet, don't worry! I am here to explain everything you need to know to buy the best players that suit your formation and ultimately build the best team possible!

What is Playstyle and Playstyle+?

They may look the same at first glance, but in reality, they are quite different from each other. A Playstyle provides a different perspective to the player's abilities on the football pitch, elevating them beyond the basic stats. The impact of their playing style will be immediately evident, with noticeable improvements in their performance on the pitch. In contrast, a Playstyle+ enhances these abilities to an entirely new level, where their traits becomes nearly unstoppable in-game.  These traits are essential and should be included into your gameplay.

These are the Best Playstyles in FC 25

All positions have their best playstyles, and now I am going to show you which playstyle is the best for every position so that you can build the team around the best players.

Goalkeeper

The best playstyle for this position is Footwork. This playstyle gives the goalkeeper the ability to make saves with his feet more often, especially for shots taken directly in front of him.

Fullbacks (LB/RB)

The ideal playstyle for the fullbacks is Intercept. Stopping counterattacks is key with this playstyle, as it helps concede fewer goals and allows for quicker counter attacks.

Centre Backs (CB)

The playstyle for this position is Block. This playstyle is effective when blocking attackers in front of the box, as it allows the player to block any incoming shots at a higher rate.

Central Defensive Midfielder (CDM)

The Anticipate playstyle is the best for this position. It is effective when performing standing tackles, though it doesn't guarantee that you'll win it back every time.

Central Midfielder (CM)

The best playstyle for this position is the Tiki Taka. With this playstyle, you can adapt to a more possession-based game and find gaps to attack while progressing the ball up the pitch.

Central Attacking Midfielder (CAM)

The Incisive Pass playstyle is considered the best playstyle for this position. In my opinion, this playstyle is key, especially when struggling to break through defenses. A perfect pass to the midfielder, followed by an immediate lob through ball, can set the striker on a clean run towards goal.

Wide Midfielders (LM/RM)

For this position, the best playstyle is recognized as Rapid. This playstyle allows wide midfielders to maintain better control of the ball and turn faster when dribbling.

Wingers (LW/RW)

The Technical playstyle is the best playstyle for the Winger position. It is useful for controlled sprints against a low block, as wingers make the right runs and can quickly expose the opponent's defense.

Strikers (ST)

For the final position, the best playstyles for the forward is the Finesse Shot. This is one of the most effective shots in the game, with a high probability of scoring. The execution of the shot makes it difficult for the goalkeeper to stop.

All Playstyles

Now let's take a look at all the playstyles available in the game to have an idea which might work best for you:

For Throw

With this playstyle, the goalkeeper can throw a long through pass with his hand finding the players furthest up the pitch. The biggest difference between the playstyle and playstyle +  is the reach and power of the throw and, also better handling in the final minutes of the game.

Players which are the best suitable for this playstyle are Peter Schmeichel and Tim Howard because they have good handling and a high reach of the ball so if you're looking for a goalkeeper with high throwing attributes, you should opt for one of these.

Footwork

This playstyle allows the goalkeeper to make more saves with his feet when the shot is on the floor, making it harder for the opponent to score. They are also faster in 1 on 1 situations, performing better reactions when facing the attacker alone.

For this playstyle, the ideal players for it are Iker Casillas and Marc Andre Ter Stegen since they have high reaction stats and they are very good on 1 on 1 situations. Also their body is considered as "controlled", which makes them faster to react than others.

Cross Claimer

The cross claimer playstyle is when the goalkeeper tries to intercept a cross, but they have to be a little bit before the striker as this trait isn't much effective if the goalkeeper is late. With the playstyle and playstyle+, the goalkeeper also have better reflexes and reactions when facing an opponent's set piece.

The ideal goalkeepers for this trait are Lev Yashin and Jorge Campos, since both goalkeepers are fast so they can intercept the ball more quicker when trying to come out to intercept the ball from the cross. Also, they are not the tallest goalkeepers, but they are leaner than other goalkeepers, which is a valid reason to why they have this playstyle.

Rush Out

For the Rush out playstyle, the goalkeepers are much faster when coming out to claim the ball from long through balls or balls over the top. With the playstyle , they come out for the ball much more quickly as their speed will increase automatically.

For this playstyle, the best goalkeepers to utilize it are Thibaut Courtois and Edwin Van Der SarAs goalkeepers, they are taller then others so they have a much higher reach for the ball and they can make a big presence when coming out for the ball, making it much more difficult for the opponent to score.

Far Reach

This goalkeeping trait is very useful for goalkeepers to save shots from outside the box as it improves his/her reach and jumping which makes it much more difficult for the opponent to score. The playstyle improves these techniques which makes the goalkeeper faster when conceding a shot from outside the box.

The best goalkeepers for this playstyle are Gianluigi Buffon and Jan OblakBoth goalkeepers have fast reflexes and a high reach , so this trait makes them very hard to beat from outside the box. This trait is also useful when defending on the edge of the box, as when they shoot from the outside, the goalkeepers are aware of the shot thanks to this playstyle.

Deflector

The deflector trait is known for goalkeepers who are able to makes shot stopping saves after the ball is deflected from someone. When making the save, with the playstyle, they would be able to make the save and push the ball away in a safer area with an increased ball speed.

Some of the goalkeepers who are able to make these types of saves are Gianluigi Donnarumma and Alisson Becker. These goalkeepers have a high reflex ability and awareness, which is very important in the game in case the ball deflects with a player, as it reduces the chance of conceding.

Long Throw

The long throw trait is when the player throws the ball farther than average player. With the playstyle, the player can throw the ball with more power and to cover as much distance as he can. A long throw can create a dangerous scoring opportunity, so it is very important to use it if you have a player with this trait.

Players who are good with long throws are Ane Anorga and Thierry Correia. Although this trait is not very common, you can always try it if you have one of these players , so that you assess its effectiveness in long-range scenarios.

Quick Step

This trait allows the player to have a quick burst of pace when running with or without the ball. The playstyle helps the player to accelerate more quickly during expulsive sprints. In my opinion, this is an important playstyle because it is useful when attacking or pressing to win the ball.

Some players who are ideal for this role are Kylian Mbappe and Caroline HansenThese players have high agility and quick feet, which is why they are perfect for this role, as they attack aggressively and also help with the press effectively.

Relentless

Relentless trait gives the player high stamina levels where he covers many areas in the pitch without feeling any fatigue whatsoever. The playstyle also gives fatigue loss during the game and increases the stamina in half time.

Players that have these playstyles are Cafu and Jude BellinghamThese players have the capability of running for 90 minutes without feeling fatigued. Also, having attacking players with this playstyle is useful as it will help you keep up the temp throughout the whole game.

For those unfamiliar, trivela trait is when the player passes, crosses or shoots with the outside of his foot. This year, this trait is one of the most effective in the game with many pro players are using it for their gameplay as it is helping them scoring more goals.

Some of the players who have the Trivela+ playstyle are Lamine Yamal and Frenkie De JongFrom experience, De Jong's trivela is one of the best in the game, with most of his outside the foot shots from outside the box results into goals. With others, obviously it's effective but I think De Jong is the best from the lot.

Aerial

The aerial trait is used from players who have a high winning rate in aerial battles, both in defense and attack. With the playstyle, the player executes higher jumps and dominates his opponents with his aerial presence.

Players who have an Aerial+ presence are Ruud Gullit and Virgil Van Dijk. These players are very important when trying to defend incoming crosses or also when putting crosses into the opposition's box. Their higher jumping ability makes them nearly unstoppable in the air.

Acrobatic

As the name suggests, this playstyle enables the player the ability to do acrobatic shots, passes and also clearances. It is not easy to do, but it is very effective from corners if you are able to perform it as the game allows you to take the shot without being impeded from the defender.

Some of the players who can perform this playstyle are Erling Haaland and Marco Van BastenFrom crosses, it is very influential and potentially it can be a game changer if you are struggling to score from open play.

This trait gives the player the ability to win ball possession through tackling with a low rate of fouling. It is very important when you are trying to stop a counter attack or defend a fierce play from your opponent. Playstyle+ gives you a higher success rate when performing a standing tackle directly at the opponent's feet.

Players with these abilities are William Saliba and Joshua KimmichHaving these abilities in a defender and a midfielder is crucial for stopping incoming attacks and avoiding potential red cards for late challenges.

This skill is not restricted to defenders only, it is also useful having a centre midfielder with the capability of performing it.

A jockey is known for being victorious in a 1 on 1 situation, depending on the player's position. The playstyle increases the speed of the sprint jockey when in transition.

Players who can perform the jockey are Jules Kounde and Ashley Cole. Although challenging to perform it, it's very useful for your gameplay.

Intercept

The intercept trait enables players to make interceptions and retain possession effectively. This playstyle increases the chances of regaining the ball back when trying to do interceptions against the opponent.

Bruiser

This playstyle allows players to win the ball back by his physical trait through clean challenges without making any fouls. The playstyle+ provides the player additional strength when they are performing any physical tackles.

Theo Hernandez and Ruben Dias are players that have this trait and would be very important players if you decide to add them to your team. Their power to win the ball back is an important asset to stop any attacks or players from getting into dangerous positions.

This trait is particularly useful for tall players, as it is known for executing elastic and overreaching blocks. The playstyle+ improves the player's reach for the ball and in the end to make a successful tackle.

Players with this trait include Lucio and Ronald AraujoTheir tall physique and long legs makes it much more natural for them to win the ball with this playstyle, as their extended reach and a higher success rate provides a significant advantage.

This trait is known for players who are capable of doing skills in a 1 on 1 situation. This will also allow players to do signature skill moves on the ground thanks to their talent. This trait is normally done from 5 star skilled players but there are times that a 4 star skilled player is capable to do it.

Players who can achieve this trait are Caroline Hansen and Kvicha KvaratskheliaIn-game, they have high agility attributes, which makes them quicker to perform this skill. This playstyle is typically relevant to forward players, as they are the ones that are capable of beating defenders in different situations.

Technical

This trait is mostly performed from players who have high agility, and it's effective when the player manages to reach higher sprint speed, and is also able to perform wide turns while dribbling. The playstyle+ allows the player to also turn with better precision.

Players performing this playstyle to a great level are Aitana Bonmati and Lionel Messi. These players are short, so it is easier for them to turn and dribble past defenders with their controlled sprint.

Players who execute a perfect first touch with the playstyle+ are Johan Cruyff and Alexia PutellasIf you make a good use of fast dribbling, these types of players can be a game changer as they can get you in dangerous positions.

Whipped Pass

The Whipped Pass trait, in my opinion, is a game changer in the game because the player can produce a high speed whipped cross with perfect precision. The playstyle+ offers more crosses that are accurate, greater curve and faster delivery.

This trait is popular with full backs, as they provide support in the attack and with this cross they can find a forward alone in the box. Players that are capable of producing this cross are Maicon and Selma Bacha

Tiki Taka

The Tiki Taka trait is best known for players that are capable of producing first-time passes and also short passes. Players with this playstyle deliver passes with high accuracy, including short distance precise passes.

Players that can produce the tiki taka with their playstyle+ are Rodri and XaviThese players are well known for their style, so it isn't that much of a surprise when you see them performing this playstyle.

Long Ball Pass

The players are capable of performing a long ball through pass to perfection. This is a great playstyle to find a run from the attackers for a chance on goal.

Players that can execute this trait are Patri Guijarro and Andrea Pirlo. These types of passes can be a game changer in your gameplay, as if you are struggling to open the defense, this playstyle+ can help you do that.

An incisive pass involves making an important pass between the defense for a teammate to make a crucial run towards goal. The playstyle+ also offers through passes that are more accurate, while swerved passes are delivered with more curve and precision passes tend to travel more quickly to the target.

Players like Kevin De Bruyne and Zinedine Zidane can utilize this playstyle since their passing abilities are high, and they will produce decisive passes in tight games. I believe you should have a player with this playstyle in midfield.

Players that can perform the Power Headers are Alan Shearer and Robert Lewandowski. The perfect combination for this a cross in the box, where the striker is ready to execute a power header as soon as the ball is on his head.

Finesse Shot

The Finesse Shot is when the attacker tries to place the ball at a particular angle, making it very difficult to stop. If the shot is hit from the perfect angle, the shot often ends up in the back of the net.

Players who has the finesse shot+ trait are Raul Gonzalez and Alex Morgan. This is effective in midfield, if for example you cannot find the attacker in the box, you can always try the finesse shot for a chance to score.

Chip Shot

The chip shot trait is normally used in front of goal to put the ball over the goalkeeper. The playstyle+ makes the chip faster and more accurate.

Players who have this trait are Robert Lewandowski and Rudi Voller. This trait is useful but not very important, because if you know how to score you don't need to use the Chip Shot Playstyle.

Dead Ball

Dead Ball Playstyle is for players who have great set pieces all round. This is another important playstyle, as mastering set pieces can determine the outcome of a match.

Ronald Koeman and Cole Palmer are players who have these traits. Their delivery from set pieces can be a deciding factor especially if you are struggling to score.

Power Shot

The Power Shot is a playstyle that works, especially when the shot is taken from outside the box. These Power Shots are the meta in this year's game, widely used by pros because of their precision and goal ratio.

Players with the Power Shot+ trait are Mia Hamm and Marcus Rashford. These players can score most of the power shots as they have high shooting stats and exceptional power.

Conclusion

I hope you find these Playstyles tips useful. Obviously, there are playstyles that are better than the others. In my opinion, the Meta playstyles in the game this year are Power Shot, Finesse Shot, Lobbed Through Ball and Whipped Pass. I try to use all of them in my gameplay, as they change how I approach the game. At the end of the day, everyone has his favorite playstyles but sometimes you have to adapt to what's best.
