Fortnite is massively popular, especially among younger players, and part of its appeal is the ability to buy skins and other cosmetic items to make your character stand out. But let’s be real – sometimes, after the hype fades, you might find yourself wishing you hadn’t spent those V-Bucks on that one skin. Whether it’s buyer’s remorse or just a change of heart, Fortnite actually gives you the option to get a refund on those purchases.

If you’re in that boat and want to know how to get your V-Bucks back, don’t worry – I've got you covered. Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the refund process step by step.

Refunding Skins in Fortnite: Here’s A Step-By-Step Guide

Every account gets three Return Tickets in case the impulsive decision to buy a skin or other item doesn’t seem like the smartest choice a few days later.

You can use your Return Tickets to undo any purchases you made in the Fortnite Item Shop. When you use one, it will remove the items you choose from your inventory and refund the V-Bucks you spent back to your account.

If you're not sure how to use your Return Tickets, here’s a straightforward guide to help you refund any eligible items:

  1. Start by opening Fortnite on your device.
  2. Head to the upper right corner of your screen and click on your Player Icon – this is the circle showing your current skin.
  3. Next, click on the Settings icon, which looks like a gear, in the right column.
  4. Now, switch to the Account and Privacy tab, identified by a person icon, at the top of your screen.
  5. From there, select Return or Cancel Purchase.
  6. You’ll see a list of items you’ve recently purchased – find the one you want to return. Keep in mind that only items bought within the last 30 days are eligible for a refund. Once you’ve found it, click Use Return Ticket.
  7. A confirmation screen will pop up – double-check the items you’re about to return to make sure everything’s correct.
  8. If you’re confident about your choice, go ahead and click Yes to finalize the return. Just remember, once you confirm, this action can’t be undone.
  9. After that, a Success screen will show you how many V-Bucks have been credited back to your account.
  10. Finally, click OK to wrap things up and return to the Return or Cancel Purchase page.

If you followed all these steps correctly then you’ve successfully used a Return Ticket to get your V-Bucks back!

Once you complete the steps, your purchase will be removed, and the V-Bucks will be credited back to your account. Just keep in mind that you only get a maximum of 3 Return Tickets on your account. If you’re wondering about getting more, don’t worry – you’ll receive an additional Return Ticket every 365 days, but only if you have fewer than 3 tickets available.
