Making profit with Lego Fortnite

Lego Fortnite is a new way to express your creativity, but now imagine being able to earn money with it as well. We all know some smart creators have earned thousands in Fortnite Creative and the same can be done in Lego Fortnite.

Lego Fortnite is the fun sandbox mode that was added into Fortnite recently. It’s garnered a large player base of creatives coming together to build something unique and fun. And you can also earn some money simply by creating islands.

How exactly does this work, though? Don’t worry, that’s what I’ll go over right now so you know how to make some easy money while doing something you love.

Earning money by being creative in Fortnite is nothing new. Players are able to create their own maps and the more people use your own creations, the more you can earn. It’s that simple. But how does this relate to the newly introduced Lego Fortnite mode? Well, Epic Games have also created a creators program for Lego Fortnite.

Thanks to a large update in March 2024, players are able to create their own islands with the Unreal Editor for Fortnite. There are some limitations to the creation of your own island, though. Since Lego is a child-friendly brand, the islands cannot have a higher ESRB rating than E10+. You also cannot use Lego assets with third-party IPs.

There are some example islands that Epic Games released themselves to give players an idea of what they could create with all the Lego assets. These islands are as follows:

• Lego Prop Hunt – players must find others disguised as props
• Lego Battle Arena – Ninjago style dueling
• Lego Cat Island Adventure – hang out and complete quests for an NPC cat

Thanks to the Island Creator Program, you’ll be able to monetize your island. Epic Games did specify that 15% of your earnings will go to the Lego Group, but the remainder of the money is yours to keep. The more people use your island code, the more money you will be able to earn, but I cannot tell you how much that will specifically be.

How to Enroll as an Island Creator

To enroll as an Island Creator, you’re going to have to be at least 18-years-old, have an Epic Games account and have logged into Fortnite at least 30 days before applying. You also have to have been editing islands in Fortnite Creative or projects for 7 days of the last 30.

If you meet the criteria, then you’re able to enroll in the Island Creator Program. Just follow these simple steps to sign up!

1. Go to the Creator Portal and press “Sign Up To Apply”
2. Press “Enroll Now”
3. Press “Apply Now”
4. Go to “Start Registration”
5. Complete the Legal Acknowledgement
6. Submit the Creator Agreements and Rules
7. Come up with a Creator Name for your Island
8. Complete your tax profile
9. Verify information via email
10. Activate Hyperwallet account
11. Once activated, receive another email
12. Start creating your Lego Fortnite Island

During this process, you will also be agreeing to the IP Partner Licensing Agreement, which is a key part of Lego Fortnite. Once you’ve completed all the steps and are part of the Island Creator Program, you can start making your own island and monetizing it. It’s that simple.

I suggest you also create some promotional media to get people to come to your island, because the more users you have, the more money you can earn through this program.
