Star Wars Outlaws "Wild Card" DLC: Release Date & Details

Everything We Know So Far About The First Outlaws DLC!

Star Wars Outlaws, despite being a single-player game, was released with a Season Pass, which gives you a couple of cosmetic bundles and access to two DLCs. The first of these DLCs will be called “Wild Card”, and I expect it to provide some new missions, as Ill as adding a few new elements to the open world.

Although little has been made public about “Wild Card”, I can make some predictions based on the info I have so far, and my experience completing the main game. Here are my predictions for the release date, the price, and the content of Star Wars Outlaws “Wild Card”.

Star Wars Outlaws “Wild Card” — Release Date & Price Expectation

When Ubisoft announced the roadmap for Outlaws, they described the first DLC as “coming fall 2024”. I would be shocked if the DLC was released within the first two months of the main release (August 30, 2024), and so I am predicting “Wild Card” will drop at some point in November.

As for the price, the difference between the Standard Edition and the Gold Edition, which includes access to the two upcoming DLCs, is $40. Therefore expect each individual DLC to be priced at around $20.

Star Wars Outlaws “Wild Card” – Content Prediction

We know that the “Wild Card” DLC will begin by having Kay meet Lando Calrissian at a high-stakes game of Sabacc. This much is revealed in the official description of the DLC:

Kay is hired to infiltrate a high-stakes Sabacc tournament, but as she crosses paths with the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, she soon learns that another game is being played.

And, indeed, we can even see Lando Calrissian playing Sabacc in the Season Pass trailer:

However, the trailer doesn’t actually give away any specific story details, besides the fact that Kay teams up with Lando in some way.

Based on what I've seen so far, I think this DLC will open with a mission that sets itself up to be like Casino Royale in space, but then will quickly devolve into a plot that involves helping Lando outsmart the Empire. But that’s just speculation, all we know for sure is that Lando Calrissian is involved, and Sabacc will play a major role.

Will We Get A New Planet In The “Wild Card” DLC?

In Outlaws, we get to see a variety of environments, from deserts to jungles and (almost) everything in between. But the only verdant planet is Akiva, which is tropical. We think the game currently lacks a temperate alternative, like Naboo, or the forest moon of Endor, which looked beautiful in EA’s Battlefront.

So, if they do give us another planet in one of these DLCs, I would expect to get a forested location like that. And for the price, I think a whole new location is a reasonable expectation. However, it’s also clear based on the aggressive pricing of this game that Ubisoft want to see a quick return on investment, so perhaps they will “cheap out” and just add a small area to a planet that is already in the game.

Hopefully Ubisoft reveal more about this first DLC soon, because now that I have upgraded Kay and her Speeder, I am desperate to explore more of the galaxy!
