Outlaws DLC "A Pirate’s Fortune": What We Know So Far

When Can We Expect The Second Outlaws DLC?

Star Wars Outlaws is the most expansive open world Star Wars game of, perhaps, all time. And although it deserved criticism for the gameplay and pricing, I really enjoyed immersing ourselves in the galaxy’s shadier quarters. Which is why I'm hyped to be getting even more of it! But this time, fewer gangsters, more pirates.

I have to admit, based on how boring space combat is, I am a little bit sceptical about the idea of a DLC based entirely on pirates (why not assassins or illegal pod racers?) But, the developers could use this DLC as an opportunity to work on those mechanics, so that with the expansion we get both more story, and an improvement of space combat.

Star Wars Outlaws “A Pirate's Fortune” — Release Date & Price Expectation

The only release window we have so far is “Spring 2025”, although I am expecting it to be the tail-end of Spring, so around April or May 2025. We will be able to narrow it down when we see how the first DLC launches, which could be anytime between September and November 2024.

As to the price, I am confident that we can already predict this to a high degree of accuracy. The Season Pass, which includes both DLCs, costs $40, and includes a couple of cosmetic bundles. I am therefore suspecting each of the individual DLCs will cost $20, and won’t come with those cosmetic bundles.

Star Wars Outlaws “A Pirate's Fortune” – Content Prediction

We know even less about this second DLC, “A Pirate’s Fortune”, than we do about the first DLC, “Wild Card”. But we have been given an official description, and the DLC gets a brief mention in the Season Pass trailer.

Here is the official description of the second DLC:

The Trailblazer's reputation precedes Kay as she runs into veteran pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who is looking to settle old scores with a ruthless gang of pirates.

In the Season Pass trailer, the narrator gives us a little more info, and claims that we will be on some kind of treasure hunt.

I am expecting that Hondo stole a hoard of treasure with a gang of pirates at some point in the past. But then they probably betrayed him, and so with Kay’s help, he’s going back to reclaim this fortune.

Will We Get New Vehicles In “A Pirate's Fortune” DLC?

The team behind Star Wars Outlaws clearly invested more time in the open world than the mechanics or the story, and so I am expecting this DLC to deliver not just more quests, but also some additional content for free roaming. Given that the theme is space pirates, I would expect that additional content to take the form of new vehicles that can be used for space combat.

Yes, we do already have the Trailblazer, but this is more like the Star Wars equivalent of a private jet, not a fighter plane.

It would be weird to give us TIE fighters, but what about an X-Wing, or even the Naboo N-1? A vehicle like this might be able to improve space combat, which is currently one of the weakest parts in the entire game.

What would you most like to see from the second Star Wars Outlaws DLC? Would you be happy with more quests, or do you also want to see starfighters introduced? Let me know in the comment section below and lets talk about all things Star Wars Outlaws.
