Everything we know about Vyse

Vyse is finally came to Valorant with Episode 9 Act 2. She is Valorant’s Agent 26, and a pretty unique sentinel. Her kit is quite interesting, and we can already see some smart plays developing from it. Here is everything you need to know about Vyse, her full ability kit and backstory.

Vyse Backstory & Lore

In Valorant lore, Vyse is also known as “Subject Z35". She is a Radivore who manipulates metal to her will. In Valorant, Radivores were first introduced with project landfall, where Gekko’s little crew of four: Wingman, Dizzy, Mosh and Thrash were being studied. Gekko's crew were then the first creatures that were called Radivores. Another example is the Bear, from Deadlock’s Cinematic “UNMADE”. It seems that, above all else, these guys do not follow the rules of Earth’s physics.

The first teaser that we got for Vyse was in an email, found on Bind in patch 7.02, where Supervisor Griffin, mentions a sixth radivore that has escaped containment.

Back then we didn’t know if they were talking about Vyse or a new Agent at all, but now it makes sense.

Vyse All Abilities

Her general specialty as a Sentinel in Valorant is disarming enemies and stopping entries. With her ability kit, she plays a very defensive role and could be immensely helpful with protecting a site. Besides that, she also offers great potential in securing a safe push, gaining flank info and more. Here are all abilities in detail.

Arc Rose (E)

The Arc Rose is Vyse’s E-Ability. She can place a metal flower on a wall, which will blind anyone in sight once activated.

Shear (Q)

EQUIP filaments of liquid metal. FIRE to place a hidden wall trap. When an enemy crosses the trap, an indestructible wall bursts from the ground behind them. The wall only lasts for a short time before disappearing, but gives the defending team a chance to get a pick on the first enemy who pushed in.

Razorvine (C)

EQUIP a nest of liquid metal. FIRE to launch. Upon landing, the nest becomes invisible. When ACTIVATED, it sprawls out into a large area which slows and damages all players who move through it.

Steel Garden (Ultimate)

EQUIP a bramble of liquid metal. FIRE to send the metal erupting from you as a torrent of metal thorns, which jams enemy primary weapons after a brief windup.

We think Vyse is awesome, and we think she’s healthy for the game, which needed more Sentinels. What do you think about Vyse? A new main, or an Agent you just don’t enjoy?
